SW Prime (On-demand Rideshare)
What is SW Prime?
SW Prime is your on-demand rideshare service for the Southwest Twin Cities area. With just a few taps on our SW Prime app or a quick call, you can request a ride from your current location to your destination. Our shared ride service is convenient and reliable, with ADA-compliant vehicles to accommodate wheelchairs, walkers, and bikes.
Prime isn’t just for everyday errands or commutes, it’s perfect for doctor appointments and meeting up with friends. Explore the flexibility of microtransit with SW Prime by SouthWest Transit.
In the near future, we’ll be introducing five new Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) to our SW Prime fleet. These AVs will operate exclusively within a designated zone in Eden Prairie, offering seamless, stop-to-stop transportation for our riders.
Learn more about this initiative by visiting our FAQs.
We recently had the pleasure of bringing together local leaders and stakeholders to celebrate the upcoming launch. Read our press release to learn more about the event, the partnerships that made it possible, and how this innovation is shaping the future of microtransit in the Twin Cities.
Service Updates Effective January 27, 2025
In our continued efforts to simplify our services, we have removed the SW Prime service names (ex. MD, Edge). Now, it's all just SW Prime!
Rest assured, we continue to serve all the same locations outside our primary service area (Eden Prairie, Chanhassen, Chaska, Carver, and Victoria), including select destinations in Edina, Shakopee, and along the 494 corridor. This change is all about making your experience with us even more seamless!
